As a second year apprentice, your sense of community will grow, along with your standard of living. In your third year, you’ll hone your trade through specialized classes and work placement, becoming certified in a range of skills. With more opportunities for advancement, your wages will increase. At this point in their training, many apprentices can become financially secure.

Year 4

As you complete your final year as an apprentice, you have become a skilled craftsman in your trade, with your specialized skills in high demand. You will graduate debt free with a high earning potential, ready to establish your role in the carpentry field.

As a journeyman, you will be qualified nationally and in Canada. You will be a seasoned professional, enjoying the benefits of flexible work hours and locations, with plenty of room for advancement. You may even start your own company. In addition, you’ll have opportunities to lead within the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.
